I can get the software to install on Windows 2003 (setpoint 4.0), but my mouse’s settings don’t show up in the software. I assume there is another check for OS somewhere and it won’t show the settings if you’re running Windows 2003. Has anyone gotten around this?

thanks for the tip! I had just bought this great little, snazzy VX Revolution Logitech mouse, unpacked it, and found myself utterably pissed when the setpoint software refused to install on Windows 2003 server. I tried downloading the latest exe from Logitech, but had no luck until I found your tip:

Right click on setup file (setup222enu.exe here), Properties, Compatibility tab, check “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” and choose “Windows XP”.

Logitech’s site includes an FAQ that states they will not support Win 2003, but so far it’s been working for me. The exe file I downloaded and got working is: setpoint310.exe

The mouse is sweet. Wish Logitech would consider all those folks that are *not* running XP :o(

… Some problem as Brendan here, too. It would be nice if you could make your version of SetPoint 1.04 available (setpoint104.exe) :-o … it somehow seems to have vanished from all websites. TIA :-)))

I’ve had to do a reinstall of my machine (server 2003) and had been happily using my mx900 on it untill now. Unfortunately, i have lost my install CD… SetPoint 2.22 includes the bluetooth software, but complains about not having local admin rights when you run the installer in compatibility mode and therefore does not install the bluetooth stack.

I emailed Logitech about getting a copy of SetPoint 1.04. This was their response:

“Dear Brendan,

Thank you for your recent inquiry about your Pointing Devices.

I understand that you would like to download the older version of SetPoint software for your MX 900 Bluetooth Optical mouse.

Please note that we do not have any download link to download the older version of SetPoint software. You will not be able to get the older version of SetPoint software.”

Way to go Logitech again…

So, i was wondering if you could save my life and send me a copy of the 1.04 software from your CD somehow?? Please!!?1?
